Believe in your capacity to grow and change
I am a strengths-based, person-centered therapist with 15+ years of experience. I specialize in trauma and helping people build insight into established patterns to create avenues for change. I believe you are the expert on your issues and history, and together we can collaborate to improve your quality of life. I am queer, kinky, and polyamorous. I use somatic techniques, parts work, EMDR, DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing, somatic mindfulness and grounding techniques, and harm reduction in my practice. I am sex-positive, fat positive, and believe we can all use more self-compassion. I specialize in working with neurodivergent (neurospicy!) and LGBTQIA2S+ folx and in sexual and relationship issues.

Supervision
I am able to supervise CSWAs and LMFT and LPC post-graduate interns. I have in the recent past (and may again, if there’s interest) facilitated an intern group that specializes in trauma and trauma-informed care. I believe in social and economic justice and collaborating to dismantle systems of oppression.

Pragmatic Healing LLC is a Portland, Oregon, trauma informed therapist and social worker. Currently offering telehealth appointments.
About Me
I earned my MSW in 2008 from Portland State University. I worked at Morrison Rosemont with teen women in a residential setting for 3 years, at Central City Concern with the houseless in various roles (primarily as a mental health case manager and counselor) for 8 years. I worked with the Integrative Trauma Treatment Center as a clinical supervisor and outpatient mental health therapist for 3+ years. I have been licensed since 2014. I started my private practice in March of 2020. Future goals: I’d like to branch out into relationship/couples work and sex therapy. Also, let’s smash the patriarchy while we’re at it, dismantle white supremacy, and create a new and just system that centers the voices of currently oppressed peoples and values equity and diversity — that recognizes the complex, whole person, including intersectionality and privilege.
Fees And Consultation
Consultations are free. Regence BCBS of Oregon accepted. Willing to do SCAs with CareOregon HealthShare. Sessions start at $185 per hour, but reduced-rate slots are available. Supervision rates are negotiable.
No Surprises Act: This is a federal law that requires health care providers to give uninsured and self-pay clients a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of costs for services starting January 1, 2022. The goal of the law is to prevent surprise medical billing, by requiring providers to inform clients of the cost of services before they are provided.

Land Acknowledgement
The Portland Metro area rests on traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River. Indigenous people have created communities and summer encampments to harvest and enjoy the plentiful natural resources of the area for the last 11,000 years. We want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities—past, present, future—and are grateful for their ongoing and vibrant presence. We also acknowledge the systemic policies of genocide, relocation, and assimilation that still impact many Indigenous/Native American families today. As settlers and guests on these lands, we respect the work of Indigenous leaders and families, and pledge to make ongoing efforts recognize their knowledge, creativity, and resilience.
